In the future there will bee less percent of people in the age of 15-60 then now. The number of people in the age of 60+ will increase. (Plus the total population will increase)

To sustain the welfare society, people have to work more and use less. It is highly probable that this will have an impact on how the students and the labour force will use their leisure time and work time and therefore also how they play.

More people will live in the city, which will also have an impact on how people spend their leisure time socially.

E:

Caused of the high number of elderly people and a shrinking labour force, the State has to find a new way to sustain the welfare for everyone. This will require significant changes in culture, workplaces and welfare systems.

S: 

Right now we see a trend were many people create a social network on the internet (e.g myspace, facebook, online gaming and internet communities)

Many believe that any change to the traditional fac-to-face communication is a threat to the quality of social life, but we don’t know the consequenses of online communities yet.

T:

The digital evolution keep up eventing new games, play and way to communicate. This will have a huge impact on the way we play and use our leisure time in the future.

E:

Over the last 30 over lifestyle expectations have changes, with the need for more expensive good. With the economic growth the society is encouraged to consume more and more. If the growth goes up at three per cent per year the consumption will double every 20 years. A continuation of this trend will impact the sustainability of our resources.

To prevent that we will run out of resources, we need a change in our lifestyle especially in the way we use our spare time. One alternative is to look 30-50 years back on how the leisure time at that point were filled with board games, backyard fun, books and imagination instead of computer games and other electric driven fun.
